Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

QA Academy is a free online course in software testing run by Insikt QA. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it and what rights you have.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address and password (the password is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
  • Learning data: lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, test cases you write in the editor and your language preference.
  • Messages: the name, email and text you send through the contact form.
  • Anonymous visit statistics: page viewed, browser type, how you arrived (search engine, social network, referring site or direct), an approximate region based on your browser time zone and a random visitor identifier. No IP address is stored and the statistics are not linked to your account.

2. Why we use your data

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To save your progress, show your dashboard and keep quiz history.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • To understand how many people visit the site and improve the course.

3. Legal basis

We process account and learning data to provide the service you requested (performance of a contract). Anonymous visit statistics are based on our legitimate interest in improving the site. Where required, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the site: Supabase (authentication, database and hosting of data), Resend (delivery of contact emails) and Google (optional sign-in with a Google account). These providers process data only on our behalf and under their own security commitments. We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use only what is needed for the site to work: a session cookie to keep you signed in and local storage or a cookie to remember your chosen language. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep data

Account and learning data are kept while your account exists. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer them. Anonymous visit statistics are kept in aggregated or anonymous form. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your data and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us through the contact form in the app.

8. Security and children

We protect data with access controls and encrypted connections. The course is intended for adults and young people aged 16 or over; if you are younger, please use it only with a parent or guardian’s consent.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be announced on the site.
